Oil Spill Coverage

Many homes are heated with oil but just a small amount of those homes have insurance policies that would cover the cost of an oil tank spill. The coverage add-on cost is less than $100 a year, but homeowners could be stuck paying hundreds of thousands of dollars in cleanup without it. Please see the link below to an article about a couple in Wareham, MA who did not have the coverage on their insurance policy.

Carvana

The popular online car retailer, “Carvana” has given Massachusetts insurance agents problems in issuing a stamp on an RMV-1 document for their customers. The issue lies in the fact that most Massachusetts auto carriers do not allow the addition or change of vehicle on the policy unless the insured has “taken title” or lease. Carvana wants Massachusetts agents to stamp the RMV-1 without the assignment of title but the Massachusetts Automobile Policy does not allow for that. The vehicle cannot be registered without the title or certificate of origin. To avoid frustration and delay the client should obtain the proper documentation and register the vehicle before going to pick it up at a Carvana vending machine.
